Dell's refusal to ship parts only...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300. The little plastic plunger that pushes out PC Cards broke. I have a warranty but I wanted to repair it myself. Dell refused to ship the parts only. They demanded that I accept a technician's visit to perform the repair! I simply declined.
